Course type: Workshop-“Where The Fun Begins”

Duration of training: 2 Hours

Camera Knowledge Level Required: No knowledge; this is where you start.

Maximum class size: 6

  • New camera and Smartphone owners, and persons wanting to understand their camera or Smartphone’s functions.

Just want to learn and have fun!

  • Basic knowledge of lens and changing you lens.

  • Care for your camera and lens.

  • How to hold your camera
  • How to use a tripod
  • Photo techniques: Composition, Thirds rule, and Leading Lines.

  • Camera Shooting modes: (A) Full Auto

  • Shooting ways: using your View finder, Live view, and Touchscreen.

  • Image quality for JPEG (record mode) and transferring your images.

  • How to save your photograph for printing

  • DLSR, Mirrorless, or compact (point and shoot) camera , Smartphone.

  • Fully charged battery (plus extra battery if you have one)

  • Empty memory card (plus extra memory card if you have one)

  • Tripod (if you have one)

  • Charging Cables and units.

  • PDF guide sheets for your camera (Developed by Kenny for this workshop)

  • Tripod to use during the workshop

  • Camera body and lens and all accessories needed if you don’t have a camera. (Limited number of camera systems for loan first come first serve.

Transportation, lodging, and meals are the responsibility of the participant.

  • Layer clothing – most of the workshop is outdoors

  • Hiking shoes; the terrain is un-level and rocky.

  • Hat

This is where you start adventuring into controlling your exposure, movement in your photograph and the amount of your photograph in focus (Depth of Filed), while still utilizing the computer system within your camera to help with the settings.

Introduction to Depth of Field, Exposure and Shutter Speed. The how and when to use camera modes: Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority and Manual. I designed this workshop for someone who is looking to control some settings for great photographs.

  • Camera Shooting modes (P) Program, (Ps) Program Shift (On some cameras), (A) or (Av) Aperture priority Mode,(S) or (Tv) Shutter priority Mode and Manual Mode.

  • Introduction to your camera menu settings.

  • Understand the effects of Aperture, Shutter Speed, and ISO.

  • Controlling Exposure – Select Exposure Compensation +/-.

  • Color Space.

  • Using creative filters with in your camera.

  • Aspect Ratio when and why you want to change your aspect ratio.

  • Basic setting options to save your photograph for printing

In today’s Digital camera’s there is a lot more to controlling your photograph than just the shooting modes Auto, Priority and Manual
I designed this workshop for someone who is looking to control all aspects of their photograph and special lighting conditions.
Your will learn your camera’s sub and main menus. Diving into the heart of your camera to add advance control to ever aspect of your photograph. As well as how to set custom camera modes and custom function buttons on your camera. This camera specific. Your camera can be programed to your photography style.

This is where you look at photography in a totally different light. Have fun pushing your camera to the limits. In the digital cameras of today night photography has become easier and fun to experience. Learn how to set custom camera modes and custom function buttons on your camera for night photography. This workshop is designed for someone who is looking to photograph star trails, milky way, light painting, moon rise and moon light landscapes.
